Residency Requirements

Kansas residency requirements must be met by the couple for the court to accept the case. If the court does not have jurisdictional rights to hear the case, it will be dismissed.

To be eligible to file for divorce in the state of Kansas, either spouse must have been an actual resident of the state for at least 60 days before filing the Petition.
